Every year we see new newborn photography trends emerge. Here are some of my favorite trends, as well as classic poses that are still very popular that I have used in my recent newborn photography sessions.

Siblings
Sibling shots are a must-have if your new addition has a brother or sister. These images are ones that you and your children will always treasure. Another element of this newborn photograph that should always be included in your newborn session is black and white. Black and white newborn photos are classic additions to your family

Off-Center Subjects
Newborn photos that feature a lot of white space and an off-center subject are a beautiful way to add an artistic touch to your pictures. Here, all the focus is on your little one.

Capture That Smile!
Is there anything cuter than a sleeping newborn smiling? We don’t think so. The trick to this newborn photograph is patience. Create a relaxed environment, and wait for it to happen. If you are prepared you will be ready to capture this beautiful moment and keep this memory forever.

Mama and Her Tribe
If you have more than one child, you’ll want to have some shots of you and your babies-brand new additions, as well as their older siblings.

Lifestyle Newborn Photography
Lifestyle photographs are a great way to capture the everyday life of you and your little ones. Bath time, nap time, or like this photo, reading a story together are all moments you will want to point, shoot, and keep forever.

All in the Family
Every newborn photo session should include you, your partner, and your newborn, (or newborns1) like in this picture.
