If you happen to be visiting the area, or are lucky enough to live there, here are some suggestions on where you can go to find great photography locations.
Westchester’s oldest park, is an 807-acre paved linear park that was opened in 1925. Featuring ponds, footbridges, a beautiful trees and shrubs – perfect for posing with your family or taking some individual portraits of your kids.
Although you do have to be a Larchmont resident and get a permit (or tag along with someone who does), this Long Island Sound waterfront park is practically worth making the move. Although only 12.5 acres, the park offers 5,000 feet of shoreline and gorgeous views, along with natural rock sculptures.
Featuring a 1,200 foot white sand beach…well, that’s really enough said, isn’t it? Visit the website for more information, as there are entrance fees to access this park (but well worth it).
Is it winter? It’s still a great place to photography your kids! Dress in warm, bright clothes and wait for a sunny (but not windy day).
Want a great location for photos of your kids, as well as a fun and education experience? The Marshlands Conservancy is just the ticket, with 151 acres of wildlife sanctuary. Featuring salt marshes, forest, meadows, ponds, and shoreline, there’s a variety of places you can take photos as well as learning about some of the local flora and fauna.
Complete with a playground, spray park, pavilion, and 700ft of beautiful beach, you can’t go wrong visiting this park. Keep an eye out for special events and concerts, or simply pack up your kids and some sand toys for a fun afternoon on the beach (no matter what time of year).
Nope, sorry, this park is just too gorgeous – I’ll keep it to myself, thank you. Seriously though, this is an amazing place. In the spring you have flowers of all colors, in the fall the leaves are falling, the summer is great too, but it’s also a great place for winter photography. With amazing structures, paths, sculptures, and seaside views, there’s a wealth of opportunity here for some fantastic photos of your kids and family.
This park is quite the amazing place and offers something for everyone. With 13-miles of coastline it is a popular summer destination but also offers year-round appeal with marshes, meadows, historical buildings, and even golf courses. For families with furry siblings, there’s a dog run too.
